I was set out to do the hartman mods to the muffler... Before that, I was looking at the pipe, someone had already drilled 3 tiny tiny holes in the endplate, which caused it to "whistle like a VW Bug". After looking at the holes and in the pipe with a flashlight, I could see that the packing or (fiberglass) had already been removed. (and I do want a straight pipe sound) so I took it upon myself to drill 8 - 3/8" holes around the exit hole that was exitsting. Wham. It's what I wanted. It got rid of the whistling and gave me a deeper more aggressive sound when throttle is used and still quiet as can be on an idle. I'm going to stick with this for a while until I get money saved up for pipes from the Website I found. (drag pipes with perforated baffles) anyhow, thanks for the responses. Ride on...
